In recent times, significant progress has been made in the areas of ultrafast multidimensional vibrational and electronic spectroscopies, high order harmonics generation, X-ray and electron diffraction, nonlinear optics, terahertz spectroscopy and attosecond spectroscopy. Scientific questions using these methodologies are addressed in the areas of ultrafast science, which covers the area of chemical reaction
dynamics in solutions, water hydration and interface dynamics, strong field effects in atoms and molecules, semiconductor and organic solids, bimolecular and photobiology, photosynthesis, metamaterials, spin, charge and lattice dynamics in highly correlated systems and nano-systems. Indian Society for Radiation and Photochemical Sciences (ISRAPS) in collaboration with the S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, will be organizing a three-day theme meeting on Ultrafast Science 2015 (UFS-2015) during
November 19 - November 21, 2015
at S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata.
S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences is one of the pioneer research institute in India. The centre is engaged in basic research in selected areas of Physical and Chemical Sciences including Condensed Matter and Materials Physics, Chemical and Biological Physics, Physics of Complex Systems, Astrophysics and High Energy Physics. The Centre is equipped with advanced experimental facilities for example, ultrafast and high frequency spectroscopy including femto-second systems, time resolved MOKE and Tera-Hertz Spectroscopy, clean room etc. Campus is situated on a 15 acre lush-green picturesque land in Salt Lake, Sector 3 and it can be accessed by air, rail and road conveniently.
