Dr. Sunandan Gangopadhyay, Assistant Professor of the Centre has received the "Top Cited Author Award (India)" by the Institute of Physics Publishing (IOP) for his paper "Constraints on the Generalized Uncertainty Principle from black-hole thermodynamics".
Anulekha De from the group of Prof. Anjan Barman has won the First Prize for Poster Presentation in the Bose-Tagore National Advanced Workshop on "Recent Advances in Condensed Matter Physics: Theory and Experiment" held at Visva-Bharati, Shantiniketan during 3-4 August, 2018.
Avinash Kumar Chaurasiya from the group of Prof. Anjan Barman has won the IEEE sponsored student-led group project with research grant of 5000 USD in "IEEE Magnetics Summer School 2018" held at Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Ecuador during 3rd - 8th June 2018.

सत्येंद्र नाथ बसु राष्ट्रीय मौलिक विज्ञान केंद्र में दिनांक 17.08.2018 को प्रो. सत्येंद्र नाथ बसु की 125 वीं जयंती समारोह के अंतर्गत, स्कूल के विद्यार्थियों हेतु “विज्ञान आउटरीच कार्यक्रम” का आयोजन किया गया। इस कार्यक्रम में केन्द्रीय विद्यालय क्रमांक 1 सॉल्टलेक, केन्द्रीय विद्यालय क्रमांक 2 सॉल्टलेक, भारतीय विद्या भवन, हरियाणा विद्यामन्दिर से कक्षा नौवीं तथा दसवी के कुल 40 विद्यार्थियों ने भाग लिया। कार्यक्रम में केंद्र के संकाय, प्रो. मनु माथुर तथा डॉ. मनोरंजन कुमार ने विशेष व्याख्यान दिया । तत्पश्चात प्रो. बसु पर बनी डॉक्यूमेंट्री दिखाई गयी एवं विज्ञान पर आधारित एक प्रश्नोत्तरी प्रतियोगिता हुई।
