Visitor, Associates and Students' Programme (VASP)

Regulations & Guidelines

The programme is planned for short trem visits (Not more than 60 days at a stretch) and the visitors will be categorized as mentioned below depending on their qualification, experience and status. S N Bose Centre will take care of their traveling expenses, accommodation and daily expenses as per EVLP rules. Nomination/ applications/recommendation should be sent to the email address: . Distinguished Lecturer
An authority in a knowledge area who will be giving a series of lectures (typically 5-7 lectures) for advanced research students as a part of our research training programme.
The lecture series proposal will be made by a SNB Faculty
Term: One time involvement.

Adjunct Professor
A person of eminence holding the rank of Professor with minimum 8 years of experience in research / teaching in any other Institution / University in India or Abroad, association with whom would benefit the Centre.
On nomination by a Faculty Member of SNBNCBS and to be decided by Director.
Term: Three Years
Minimum and maximum duration of visit for Adjunct Professor should be 1 week at a time and 4 weeks respectively in a given year.

Adjunct Fellow
Must be a Faculty Member in other Institution / University in India interested to be associated with the Centre and association with whom would benefit the Centre.
On nomination by a Faculty Member of SNBNCBS and to be decided by Director.
Term: Three Years
He / She will be required to visit the Centre at least for two weeks per year. Maximum stay in a year is limited to 60 days.

Student Associate
A PhD student,from other Institutes / Universities who want to collaborate with faculty of this Centre for their thesis work till completion of his/her thesis defense, and having an affiliation with any Institute/University may apply for a Student Associate ship.
Based on application by a prospective candidate. Application form available on VASP web page.
For duration of thesis of the student. Can visit up to 3 months in a year.

Short-Term Visitor
Faculty Members from various Institutes, Universities and Colleges who would like to collaborate with the Centre.
On nomination by a Faculty Member of SNBNCBS and to be routed through VASP Committee for screening of the research proposal & final approval by The Competent authority..
Term: Three years
visit for up to two weeks (maximum one visit per calendar year)

Summer student
Normally M.Sc - 1st / 2nd year from a reputed University / Institute in India. Application should be supported by a letter of recommendation from a senior teacher / HOD.
Announcement is made on the Centre's website under ADMISSION PROGRAMME by January in the year of intake.
Fixed duration - 8 weeks during May-July each year.
