From 01.09.2017 to 14.09.2017, Hindi Fortnight was celebrated at the Centre. The fortnight began with the Director writing the “Word of the Day” on the whiteboard placed in the reception area. Throughout the fortnight, several competitions and programs were organized. Employees enthusiastically participated in extempore speech, essay writing, and quiz competitions. On 08.09.2017, the Oglam group staged the play “Baap Bada Na Bhaiya, Sabse Bada Rupaiya” (Father is not greater, nor brother — money is the greatest). On 14.09.2017, the fortnight concluded with the “Hindi Day” celebration. On this occasion, Prof. Rajshree Shukla, Head of the Hindi Department, University of Calcutta; Mr. Ram Narayan Saroj, former Deputy Director, Hindi Teaching Scheme; and Mr. Vipati Ji, Hindi Teacher, Hindi Teaching Scheme, delivered their addresses and distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions held during the fortnight. Afterwards, members of the Centre staged the play “Laptop Baba”.
Date in center 13th July, 2017, On Thursday, a “Hindi Essay Writing Competition” was organized for school students (Classes IX–X). In this competition, a total of 25 students from five schools — Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Salt Lake; Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Salt Lake; Haryana Vidya Mandir; A.P.J. School; and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan — participated.
